MeetingsWe will be hosting a number of summer schools and workshops for the young researchers associated with the network. We anticipate that the summer schools will also be open to other pre-docs and post-docs. Summer schoolsThe summer schools will provide extensive and in-depth introductions to subjects relevant to the young researchers in the network, but will also be of interest to others in the field. They will typically last 4-5 days, with 30-40 participants, and be held in relaxed and isolated surroundings - often near a beach! There will be 4 or 5 speakers, each giving around 6 hours of lectures. There will also be opportunities for young researchers to present their own work. The first summer school was in Greece, 23-27 September 2003 on Basic Processes in Turbulent plasmas. The second summer school was in Calabria in autumn 2004. The third will be in Tuscany in October 2005. WorkshopsWorkshops will be much smaller, and be much more interactive, with the opportunity for "hands-on" training and for young researchers to discuss their work in depth with speakers. They will also last around 2-3 days. The first was held in late 2003 at Orsay on analyses of images of turbulent plasmas.Other meetingsWe also anticipate that young researchers associated with the network will travel to other relevant national and international meetings, such as EGU.At this stage, many of the details of the network-organised meetings are preliminary. More information will be available in future. If you would like to be informed when this information is available, please contact Peter Cargill Past and forthcoming meetings2002
