The Ulysses space mission, in orbit since 1990, has given us an unprecedented view of the heliosphere over its unexplored regions over the poles of the sun.  Ulysses has provided us, through our leadership of the Magnetic Field Investigation, with an opportunity to take part in numerous research projects on the structure and dynamics of the interplanetary medium and its dependence on solar phenomena.

Our next major scientific space mission is Cluster-II a four-spacecraft mission to study the details of the Earth's magnetosphere and its response to solar outbursts.  We lead the Magnetic Field Investigation on Cluster-II, to study the three dimensional structure and dynamics of the boundaries of the magnetosphere and a range of small scale, fundamental space plasma processes.  Cluster-II will be launched in the summer of 2000.
