- 1985-1989, Postgraduate study at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, under the supervison of Dr Paul Wraight. Ph.D. awarded July 1989. Thesis title: Spectroscopic and imaging studies of nightglow variations.
- 1981-1985, B.Sc. (Honours) in Natural Philosophy (Physics), awarded in July 1985, University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
- 1975-1981, Secondary School: Banff Academy, Banff, Scotland.
Professional Affiliations: I am a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a member of the European Geophysical Society, and of the American Geophysical Union.
