September 27-28, 2010

School of Physics and Astronomy

University of Southampton, UK

A special meeting is being organised by the UK solar-terrestrial physics community (MIST) to celebrate the life and work of Prof. Henry Rishbeth (1931-2010).

The meeting will take place in his home city of Southampton, UK, on September 27-28, 2010

To mark Henry’s long commitment to the advancement of ionospheric science, main focus of the meeting will be forward looking.

Thus we invite papers that address key open questions in ionospheric science, especially those recently posed by Henry, both in his 2007 article in EOS (H. Rishbeth: “Thermospheric Targets”, EOS, 88, 24 April 2007 - Download PDF) and more recently in discussions with colleagues.

We will balance this with a number of talks reviewing Henry's achievements and setting a context for future work.
