On the 21st January 2002 Paul Wilson lead a one week field trial in the Mt. Blanc massive. The instrument was burried under 80 cm of snow on the Aiguille du Midi (3776 m, pictured above). The trial was a complete success. Hourly measurements of pressure readings were obtained and are shown below. The passage of a low pressure system is clearly apparent. The data has been verified with 6 hourly geopotential height at 700 mb reported by the Global Data Assimilation System also shown below.
