Ulysses ESA Guest Investigators
In addition to the instrument teams which are responsible for the analysis of data from their experiments, both individually and in collaboration with other teams, the Ulysses mission has collaborated with other, related, scientists. There are Guest Investigator programmes run by both ESA and NASA.
ESA
The European Space Agency issued an Announcement of Opportunity in June 1996 for the Ulysses Guest Investigator Programme. Nine applications were received, all of which were accepted in February 1997. Five of these applications involve the analysis of data from the magnetic field experiment, more than for any other team. These pages provide details of these investigations, including information about the proposals and contact details.
- D. Burgess, Univ. London
- Kinetic modeling and data analysis of shocks, structures and flow in the 3-D heliosphere
- P. Cargill, Blackett Laboratory, ICSTM
- The structure and dynamics of interplanetary coronal mass ejections and microstreams observed by Ulysses
- G. Erdös, KFKI Budapest
- Study of the small-scale and large-scale structures of the heliospheric magnetic field as measured
by Ulysses, with particular emphasis on its implications for charged particle transport
- T.S. Horbury, Blackett Laboratory, ICSTM
- A study of turbulent heliospheric processes
- F. Neubauer, Univ. Cologne
- Investigation of tangential and rotational discontinuities in the solar wind at high latitude
