Ulysses Anisotropy Telescopes
-
An energetic particle detector built within the Space and Atmospheric Physics
Group at Imperial College to measure ions in the MeV energy range. This
two telescope sectored instrument has 16 look directions per spacecraft
spin, and particle anisotropies (the coefficients of a spherical harmonic
expansion of the particle fluxes) can be calculated.
-
Part of the COSPIN(Cosmic
Ray and Solar Particle Investigation) collaboration. The COSPIN instruments
measure different types of particles across a diverse range of energies.
On the right is a picture of the COSPIN box, with the two ATs telescopes
visible within the yellow frame.
