Solar energetic particles
The passage of the Ulysses spacecraft over the Sun's poles at solar maximum,
has provided us with unique solar energetic particle (SEP) data.
For the first time, SEPs were detected at high heliographic latitudes.
Data from the ATs and the other instruments part of the
COSPIN
consortium have been extensively analysed in a series of papers
listed in the ATs
Publications page.
Earlier work with the ATs focussed on SEP data at ~5 AU from the Sun.
This included a comparison of decay phases at 1 and 5 AU, and
work on a possible ~150 day
recurrence in the fluxes and anisotropy of MeV energy
protons (see ATs
Publications).
Jupiter encounter
ATs data from the Ulysses Jupiter encounter has been used to study plasma flows
in the Jupiter magnetosphere.
For more details on this topic see the ATs
Publications page.
