BOOM DEPLOYMENT - VHM

The animation below shows the deployment of the Cassini Magnetometer Boom as seen by our vector helium magnetometer (VHM). The VHM is attached to the outer half of the boom and deployed out to a distance of 11m within approximately 5 minutes. You can see the point where the inner half deployment stops and the outer half deployment starts, this is where the rotation direction changes from clockwise to anti-clockwise (looking along the boom).
