Ulysses Getting hold of Ulysses data

Most of the Ulysses magnetic field and Anisotropy Telescope data received to date is freely available at archive sites: there is a list of these sites on this page. If you want data that is more recent than that in the public domain, you should contact Geraint Jones at Imperial College for magnetic field data or Silvia Dalla for ATs data. The most recent received magnetic field data are available as a figure. There are also several overview plots of Ulysses data available.

Magnetic field data

If you use Ulysses magnetic field data, please contact the Principal Investigator, André Balogh, and let him know. This reduces the chance of duplication of effort between teams and lets us provide instrument documentation that makes data analysis easier.
COHOWeb
COHOWeb is a Web-based data plotter and retriever. It contains, among other data sets, hourly-averaged Ulysses magnetic field data. This data can be plotted, or retrieved. As of 2nd February 1999, Ulysses magnetic field data from launch in October 1990 until the end of June 1997 is available at COHOWeb.
NSSDC
NSSDC (the National Space Science Data Center, part of NASA) archives spacecraft data, including those from the Ulysses magnetic field experiment. There is a Ulysses page at NSSDC. Probably the easiest way to access the data is using the SPyCAT Web page which provides a Web interface to the data. As of 15th May 1998, Ulysses magnetic field data from launch in October 1990 until at least June 1996 is available at COHOWeb.
ESA Ulysses archive
ESA maintains an archive of Ulysses data. The magnetic field holdings are of hourly averaged data as zipped monthly files and monthly PostScript plots. As of 15th May 1999, Ulysses magnetic field data from launch in October 1990 until the end of 1996 is available at the ESA archive.
PDS
The Planetary Data System is a NASA facility for archiving planetary data. It contains magnetic field data from the Ulysses Jupiter encounter in early 1992.

Anisotropy telescope data

If you use Ulysses Anisotropy Telescope data, please contact Silvia Dalla at Imperial and let her know. This reduces the chance of duplication of effort between teams and lets us provide instrument documentation that makes data analysis easier - a major issue with AT data.
ESA Ulysses archive
ESA maintains an archive of Ulysses data. Ulysses Anisotropy Telescope data is available in the archive.
PDS
The Planetary Data System is a NASA facility for archiving planetary data. It contains Anisotropy Telescope data from the Ulysses Jupiter encounter in early 1992.
