What is it? We are holding a series of lectures (the "PG Lectures") covering the
key physics used in the Group. The series covers one topic (or family of topics)
per week, typically with two lectures early in the week (Monday and Tuesday) and one problem
session on Friday. An exception is the last two weeks, which feature four lectures in total on examples of common methods and tools used in Space and Atmospheric Science, and do not include a problem class. All activities are held in Huxley 711C, unless otherwise noted. Please note that while most of the lectures will take place on Mondays 1:30-3pm, Tuesdays 1:30-3pm, and Fridays 2-3pm, there may be a few exceptions (see notes below next to each session).
These courses are compulsory for 1st-yr PG (e.g. PhD) students (an attendance register will be kept), without
distinction between "Space" and "Atmos" students.
All other members of the Group are welcome to join! Members of other groups or departments are welcome to join, though it would be helpful if an e-mail could be sent first to Apostolos Voulgarakis for logistic purposes.
Lecture notes/slides and problem sheets will be uploaded to the webpage on a weekly basis, as the lecture series progresses.
